Similar to the recent decline in handwritten letters, the days of the mail order catalog are almost long gone. These days, one can go online, price check almost anything in a matter of seconds amongst dozens of online retailers. And, if you are a savvy shopper, you can have it sent to you free of charge. The reason why I mention this is for a shameless plug of our friends The Deadly Syndrome. Stay with me here and you’ll see where I am going with this.

The Deadly Syndrome is a Los Angeles based band, and three of the four members have worked with us here at jackass for an extended amount of time. In fact, the band was (kind of) brought together in the fertile office environment of jackass number two.

I am not going to drone on about the band and their music, but their debut album, The Ortolan, was released almost a year ago and we’d really like them to get out of here and start touring. First, because they are talented, and a great live band. Second, because we are growing weary of the circular hiring and quitting process with them. Third, because they’d really rather be writing songs (as evidenced by Crash and Pontius currently trading guitar licks on my porch as I attempt to write this). And lastly, so I can steal Shanna’s dream job of being their road manager when they start their 200-date world tour.

Their sophomore effort is coming in the near future, so why don’t you do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of The Ortolan from your favorite online retailer today. I’d direct you to our online store for it, but… well, never mind.
